The word hasn't filtered out into the stands yet, but it does, and Bissinger feels the need to point out that it did so without any of the crowd having cell phones. Typical example: the Japanese have attacked Pearl Harbor, it's a fall Sunday afternoon in America, and the Giants are playing the Redskins and one of the protagonists is in the stands.
